Barrow Street Nursery School Celebrates Earth Day

Earth Week 2012 was marked by a great cornerstone at Barrow Street Nursery: the planting of the rooftop garden. After more than two years in the making, the dream of a rooftop garden at 27 Barrow Street became a reality, thanks to generous donations and hard work from the BSNS community.

The garden is just one part of numerous environmental efforts to keep the school "green." A dedicated group of parents on the green team has also encouraged such initiatives as waste-free lunches and the use of recycled materials in classrooms. We encourage parents to take a minute to visit the roof and see the new planters that are just the start of our new garden. The garden not only made our Earth Day happy, but reminds us to stay green all year round!
