NYU Employees Spruce up Senior Center

Employees from NYU's residential Life and Housing program put down their pens and picked up their paintbrushes for a day at Greenwich House's Senior Center on the Square at 20 Washington Square North. A group of about 50 volunteers worked in shifts throughout the day to paint two rooms, a bathroom and a hallway. The rooms will be used as a lounge and activity space for the seniors.

This was a part of NYU's annual training that incorporates a volunteer project to contribute to the community while also working on team building. In addition to completing the entire project, from set-up to clean-up, they provided all the paint and materials.

Greenwich House is grateful to have the support of the University as a partner in bettering the community. Thank you to those hard working volunteers that have given our space a fresh facelift! Greenwich House runs four different senior centers that offer hot meals daily and a wealth of physical and mental wellness classes.
