North River Music: Pianist Matthew McCright

On Thursday, March 18 at 8pm, pianist Matthew McCright presents premieres by Augusta Read Thomas and Ken Steen, and other works by Thomas and Frederic Rzewski.



The evening’s program is set to include the world première of Ken Steen’s 3 Situations for piano and fixed media and the New York première of Augusta Read Thomas’s Traces for piano solo. Other works include the first three of Thomas’s six Piano Etudes and Frederic Rzewski’s Four North American Ballads. The March 18 performance of 3 Situations is sponsored by the American Composers Forum through its Encore Program, supporting repeat performances of new works.

Admission is payable at the door from 7:30pm and costs $15 general, $10 for students and seniors. This performance will be held at Renee Weiler Concert Hall
