Recital and Master Class with Evelyne Crochet

Join Greenwich House Music and Pianist Evelyne Crochet for a recital followed by a master class on April 23, 2010 at 8 PM and April 24, 2010 at 3 PM, respectively.

Crochet's repertoire spans over three centuries, from the works of Schoenberg, Berg, Messiaen, Hollinger, Takemitsu, and Wyttenbach, to the complete works of Debussy and Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier (New England Bach Festival and Newport Festival).

Evelyne Crochet was educated in her native country of France and was a student of Yvonne Lefébure and Nadia Boulanger. She went on to study with Edwin Fischer in Switzerland, and later on in Bern, Rudolf Serkin extended to her a unique invitation to come and study with him in the United States. This exceptional sponsorship resulted in her emigration to the U.S.A.

She has held artist in residence and faculty positions at Brandeis University, Rutgers University, Boston University and Georgia State University. She also served on the faculty of the New England Conservatory in Boston, and earlier on, as Rudolf Serkin’s substitute during his sabbatical at the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia.
