Mata Ortiz Pottery Technique Demonstration

In this one-day, demo-only workshop, Mexican Diego Valles will demonstrate the traditional pottery making technique of Mata Ortiz Pottery. Valles has been expanding the limits of both Mata Ortiz and traditional Mexican Ceramics. In 2010 he was awarded The National Youth Award for Arts, Mexico’s highest honor to a young living artist, “for the combination of Science, Art and Excellence in the creation of his ceramics." During the workshop, he will show how he makes the objects plus his burnishing and decorating methods. Workshop is $95 and with a one hour break for lunch. Click here to register now!
