Class Description: This class will explore the exciting dynamics between fabric, print, and design. Students will explore a variety of theatrical arts to create hand puppets, marionettes, face masks, and shadow puppets. A great way to explore art, storytelling, and theatre! Students will learn hand-sewing, machine sewing, embroidery and beading to create amazing work in this fun class. Students will transform their ideas and designs into sellable products like T-shirts, pillows, cards, toys, clothes, bags and other art items.

Class Description: This class will introduce students to the unique world of animated storytelling beginning with the basics of cartoon animation, using flipbooks and zoetropes, this class will discuss the fundamentals of the moving image and traditional animation. Students will have hands-on experience writing, designing, and producing animated shorts using traditional drawing, stop-motion techniques and computer animation programs. Experiment with character drawings, puppetry and sculpture, set building, sound recording and basic stop-motion animation. In this class, students will be introduced to various techniques of stop motion animation including claymation, pixilation and paper cut-out. Children will use computers, cameras, iStopMotion software, and a variety of tools and materials to create abstract, narrative and experimental films.

Weekly Class Schedule
All classes run from 4:15 - 5:45 pm, with extended hours available. Walkover services are available from PS3, PS41, Our Lady of Pompeii and Little Red School House. Prior to the start of classes, children will gather beginning around 3:30 for snack and general homework help in the gym.
