Weaving Middle Eastern music, psychedelia and modern pop, Pharaoh’s Daughter updates the Flower Child aesthetic for the new millennium.

Pharaoh’s Daughter (Basya Schechter, Daphna Mor, Meg Okura, Yuval Lion, Shanir Blumenkranz, Mathias Kunzli, and Brian Marsella), led by vocalist and oud player Basya Schechter, blend traditional Hasidic music with Middle Eastern, African, Eastern European and Mediterranean influences, resulting in "New Jewish Music", or Jewish Psychedelia.  At times both meditative and explosive, Pharoah's Daughter's music forms a vibrant artistic dream of a new Middle East.  They have received grants from the New York State Council of the Arts (NYSCA), American Composers Forum, the American Music Center, and more in support of their musical vision.  Their songs have appeared on various sacred music compilations; their last album, Haran, won an Indie Acoustic Award for Best Eurasian Album.
