Every family that comes to the Children’s Safety Project is attempting to cope with the aftermath of physical or sexual abuse, domestic violence, or other violent crimes. They may be dealing with feelings of guilt, shame, anger, depression, and powerlessness. Family circumstances and dynamics may have undergone drastic changes.
The program provides counseling and support services for children, adolescents, young adults, and their non-offending family members. We make an assessment of each family’s unique needs and plan an individualized program that incorporates one or more treatment methods. The focus is always on using each family’s strengths to promote healing and empowerment.
We are grateful to the CME Group Community Foundation, Glickenhaus, Hedge Funds Care, the Paul E. Singer Foundation, Rite Aid Foundation, TJX Foundation and van Ameringen financial support of this unique program.
