Welcome to Greenwich House Pottery where we have been introducing New Yorkers to clay since 1909.  Over the years we have become an internationally recognized center for ceramics. Our diverse program of classesexhibitionsresidencies, community outreach and special events makes us an excellent resource for professional artists and newcomers alike.

Over the last century, the Pottery has pioneered the field of ceramics in New York City, offering courses in hand-building, wheel-throwing, photo-ceramics, ceramic jewelry, glaze chemistry, kiln firing and sculpture, as well as classes for children through the Greenwich House-After School program. Read more about our history and the formative years of Greenwich House. Our workshops and lecture series have brought ceramic artists such as Ann Agee, Kathy Butterly, Nicole Cherubini, Simone Leigh, Warren MacKenzie, MC Richards, Betty Woodman and Peter Voulkos.  to name a few.

The Jane Hartsook Gallery, where we maintain ongoing exhibition series, reinforces our commitment to supporting both emerging and established ceramic artists, and to our educational mission of making, exhibiting and learning from contemporary ceramics.
