Summer Master Series Workshops:  Friday, July 12 through Sunday, July 14
This year we are excited to welcome Harlan Reano and Ibrahim Said to Greenwich House. Summer Master Series Workshops are intermediate level and take place from 10 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. daily; Firing and materials are included in the cost of tuition. Participants may stay and work in the studio until 10:00 p.m. during the workshop. Space is limited. Tuition is $425 ($375 for current GHP students). Students must register in person to receive the discount. More details can be found on our website:
ŸAlong with wheel throwing demonstrations showing traditional Egyptian forms, Said will discuss and demonstrate the use of geometry in Islamic design as the basis for both traditional Islamic ware and his own sculptural ceramic work. He will walk through the steps from drawing on paper to translating designs onto clay and demonstrate how even similar underlying geometric structures can become a variety of different patterns.     ŸLisa Holt (Cochiti Pueblo) and Harlan Reano (Santo Domingo/Kewa Pueblo) have been collaborating since 1999. Reano will demonstrate the handbuilding techniques and the decoration methods used to make their signature Ollas. Reano creates designs that are sometimes inspired by older Santo Domingo pottery, but frequently are his own creations. This workshop will be concurent with an exhibition of their work in the Jane Hartsook Gallery.

For New Six-Week Students
Instructors will hand out the Greenwich House Pottery Student Information and Guidelines during your first class. Please read this carefully as it will help to orient or re-familiarize you with the studios. Pottery Notes is your source for all studio information; Pottery Notes and Open Studio hours are posted on the Message Center and bulletin boards and can be found on our website.

GHP Merch Sale
T-shirts, totes, steins, Potluck Cookbooks and Gallery catalogues are all on sale now through the end of the term. Score some sweet GHP merch and support the Pottery at the same time!

Lay Me in a Hot Bed and Try Not to Drown
The Jane Hartsook Gallery is pleased to present new work by Joanna Powell. In this exhibition, Powell explores emotions that are universally felt in highly individualized ways. Everyone eventually grapples with the death of a loved one, but each person’s experience is unique. Using ceramic, photography and neon, Powell unpacks what it means to have common experiences without actually being able to share them. Stop by the gallery Wednesday through Saturday 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.
