The Stars 3s class spent the last two week of February learning about and exploring the West Village. They learned all about transportation around the Village as well as the wonderful restaurants that are typical of the neighborhood. For their cooking project they wanted to learn about something that is a favorite of theirs: cupcakes. Magnolia Bakery generously came to visit their class to teach them how to frost cupcakes.
During December, BSNS students worked hard on a holiday project called Smiles For Seniors. All students took part in activities that included making baked goods and cards, learning songs and raising money to donate to the seniors to brighten their holidays.
Greenwich House Music invites you to join its Young Voices Ensemble as it presents "The North Wind and the Sun."
Each year, BSNS does a school-wide project to celebrate Earth Day in addition to individual class projects. This year the school focused on our roof top garden and planting with the children. Each child brought in an old shoe, sneaker, crock or boot from home to decorate so the shoes could be made into planters.
The American Ballet Theatre just completed their special dance workshop with our 3s and 4s classes. ABT conducted several workshops at our school to teach dance and movement. Then our 4s students and their parents were able to go on a field trip to ABT for a fun day of activities which included their final dance workshop, creation of their own background scenery and our very own performance by ABT elite student dancers!
Congratulations to Alfons and Heather's 4s class, The Pizzas! They held a trike-a-thon in the school gym last week that raised almost $4000 for St. Judes
Children's Hospital, as part of their service learning project.
