Andrew Rbinson
Andrew Cornell Robinson is an artist and interdisciplinary maker whose work is on the cusp of design, sculpture and craft. He creates ceramic and mixed media objects and images with a rich attention to materiality and narrative. Much of his work consists of interdisciplinary projects and occasional collaborations with artisans and makers.

He is the founder of the arts and crafts research studio (acrStudio); a platform for independent and collaborative projects that explore craft materials, processes and traditions with other makers. He has exhibited extensively in the United States and abroad. He was a featured artist at the United Kingdom’s Crafts Council in London. His art has brought him to work on collaborations in England, Scotland, India, Haiti, the Dominican Republic and across the United States.

Andrew began his ceramic education in his youth during an eight-year apprenticeship in a production pottery before studying ceramics at the Maryland Institute College of Art and the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. He moved to New York City in 1992 to study sculpture at the School of Visual Arts where he received an MFA. He is a member of the faculty at Parsons School of Design.
