Ann Treesa Joy Greenwich House Pottery

Ann Treesa Joy is a multi-media artist, currently working primarily in clay. Her work is mainly figurative and humorous, although recently her work has been a critical examination of the social norms concerning the female body. She particularly loves using hair as a medium.

Ann Treesa spent most of her life in the suburbs of Minnesota after which she went to Carleton College in the rurals of Minnesota. She found a passion for clay at Carleton where she received the Ursula Hemingway Jepson Memorial Award for Studio Art and the Talia Goldenberg Award for Studio Art. She graduated with distinction in her major and senior thesis. After graduation she went home to India to be with family and record a different landscape of objects and scenes in watercolor, pencil and pen. She currently lives and works in New York City and continues to make art in many capacities.
