Dr. Desmond Heath is a voluntary attending at Mt Sinai Hospital in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. As a member of Disaster Psychiatry Outreach he founded Kid's Corner - 9/11 response. He has a private practice in NYC and in upper Westchester. He developed a method for reducing the duration of untreated psychosis (DUP) by an initial open dialogue non-hierarchical family diagnostic and therapeutic meeting. This method keeps the locus of control within the family and provides a partial externalization by understanding psychotic experience as an extra brain beat inducing ectopic dream breaking through into the waking state.
