Lacy Draper Greenwich House Pottery

Lacy received her MFA from the 3D4M sculpture department at the University of Washington. Lacy has an extensive background in education and mentorship. She has taught metal working and welding to middle school students and has been a Teaching Artist in multiple community based organizations. She is passionate about supporting youth in becoming socially just and compassionate humans.

Lacy’s work deconstructs objects and actions that culturally bind and secure social hierarchy in the United States. Her work grapples with the idea of “physical conditioning” in opposition to “social conditioning.” She is drawn to objects and materials whose actions reinforce conditioned states of oppression. Lacy’s art dismantles these hierarchical states with sculpture-tools that clear space, especially for women and young girls, in our dystopian present. Her art creates the potential for social utopias to seed.
