Lisa Chicoyne 2017 Greenwich House Pottery
Lisa Chicoyne is an artist who is interested in the complexity of human emotions and the paradox of their expression. Trained as a sculptor, her curiosity about the nature of materials brought her to ceramics. She is captivated by the way matter can be transformed through process. Her current work references textiles which become records of intimate collected histories that only begin the telling of a story.

Lisa’s work is in numerous private collections throughout the United States. She has participated in solo and group exhibitions at Edge Gallery (Denver), The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, The Sangre de Cristo Art Center (Pueblo, CO), Salina Art Center (Salina, KS), The Downtown Studio Gallery at Pikes Peak Community College (Colorado Springs, CO), Greenwich House Pottery, Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition and others. She earned her MFA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and has taught at The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, Pikes Peak Community College (Colorado Springs, CO), Sugar Maples (Hunter, NY) and Greenwich House Pottery where she currently teaches paperclay. Lisa also worked in various capacities at Greenwich House Pottery since 2004 including Assistant Director from 2010 until recently (2017) when she returned to her studio practice full time. She lives and works in Fairview, NJ.
