Lyra Harris

Lyra Harris is an artist and art teacher.  Born and raised in Northern California, Lyra moved to New York after teaching in public schools for five years in the San Francisco Bay Area. She currently teaches art at Greenwich House Music School’s Music, Art and Play program, is a teaching artist with DreamYard Project in the Bronx, and designs and makes linoleum block prints.

She attended Rhode Island School of Design, and received a Bachelor in Fine Arts from California College of the Arts and her K-12 teaching credential in Art Education from San Francisco State University. She lives in the Bronx with her husband, actor and playwright Dan Hoyle.
