Here’s How COVID-19 is Affecting Our Programs and Events

As an historic provider of important health and human services to our community, Greenwich House, while carefully monitoring the progression of the COVID-19 epidemic, continues to respond to the needs of the community based on the recommendations provided by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), the New York City Department of Education, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Here is what we are doing:

 Senior Centers: Effective March 16th, all Greenwich House Senior Centers programs will be providing take home meals from each center on designated days. Please check the Senior Center page for weekly updates.

Case Assistance Services are available primarily via phone; our social worker will be checking the office voicemail (212-777-3555 ext. 119) regularly and return calls promptly to respond to your questions and concerns and provide information, support and assistance. Staff is exploring options to provide video programming for some classes while the centers remain closed.

Mental and Behavioral Health Services: The Children’s Safety Project, Chemical Dependency Program, Methadone Maintenance Program and Senior Health and Consultation Center remain open to provide care and services via phone to our clients with TeleMed and TeleMental services.

For Youth Programs, Music School and Pottery, online learning models are being offered, please check the BSNS and After-School pages for updates.  

Greenwich House Music School: Private lessons are being conducted virtually over video-messaging services, and the Music, Art and Play class is meeting online.  Arts resources for parents to explore at home will be available to access as well.

Greenwich House Pottery: Staff and faculty are continuously developing online content to help enrich ceramics lovers’ during this period of social-distancing.  Visit the Pottery page for more information.

In the true spirit of settlement houses, we are working hard to rise to the occasion and create solutions to meet our community’s needs and support our staff and faculty as we navigate this new territory.
