I hope all of you are well, and managing through all this. These are certainly challenging times, but this too will pass.
As you likely know by now New York City Schools will be closed starting Monday March 16th. Therefore, we are following suit and suspending our programming, with plans to resume when schools formally reopen. We will also continue to monitor and adjust our plans as circumstances dictate.
In the meantime, we hope to keep our teachers and counselors working and thinking about ways to support our families, as you navigate keeping your kids engaged in positive ways. Greenwich House provides jobs for hundreds of local New Yorkers. As a program, we employ over 15 employees in After-School and Summer Arts Camp. We are doing our best to continue to support and pay our talented staff through this hard time.
As teaching as we know it begins to evolve, we hope that you will join us in continuing to provide kids with a sense of normalcy and continuity through education .We are all working around the clock to shift to an online class model that is dynamic and exciting while still providing the high quality curriculum kids deserve.
We will be developing and sharing lessons and plans over the days and weeks ahead. The lessons we have, the sharing will be something new, so give us a week to readjust and we will follow-up with more shortly.
Please feel free to contact me should you have any further questions or concerns.
Registration for Spring Classes is Now Open!
Greenwich House After-School program provides students with opportunities that encourage creativity, build friendships and develop self-esteem through a variety of artistic practices. Join us for enriching experiences where children can grow and learn under the supervision of professional artists in a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental environment. Most classes are arts-based, however no prior experience in art is necessary, only a desire to learn. Each term concludes with an art show of students’ works.
