Toddler Program

The Toddler Class is a program for children turning 2 that’s specifically designed to promote independence, autonomy and language development. This year-long pre-nursery school program meets two or three times a week and begins with a slow separation period where parents or caregivers gently separate throughout the first 6-8 weeks of class. As children gain comfort in their new surroundings and become more independent in the classroom, parents will have the opportunity to participate in discussion-based workshops with our developmental psychologist on topics such as discipline, language development, potty training and sibling relationships.

Toddler Programs are separate from the Nursery School and families will need to apply to the Nursery School for the following year, but those admitted to this program can receive early notification, if desired. Barrow Street siblings enrolled in Toddler Classes are guaranteed acceptance into Barrow Street Nursery School.
