Textile Art & Design

Friday
4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Ages 6 and up

In Textile Art & Design we will explore different ways to work with fabric that include hand dyeing, silk screening, block printing, machine sewing, weaving, and quilt making.

Textiles have been a fundamental part of human life since the beginning of civilization. The methods and materials used to make them have expanded enormously; textiles can be used to decorate a home, for fashion, or thoughtful gift giving.

Items made in Textile Art & Design have included : pot holders, quilts, pillows, bags, and can adapt to the creative inspiration of each student. Textiles make up the foundation of all fabric craft – so the sky is the limit!

We ask that all participants be prepared for working with / learning to work with a sewing machine.
