Older Adult Centers

20% of Lower Manhattan’s seniors depend on Greenwich House’s senior services.

Greenwich House responded to the aging community of the Village by beginning senior services in 1955. Now, we manage four senior centers throughout Lower Manhattan and run the Senior Health and Consultation center, a mental health and primary care program for the elderly. The older adult centers are a vital resource for many in the community, providing a safe and comfortable atmosphere where friendships grow among a spectrum of social, educational and cultural activities, along with daily hot lunch. Case management, social work and financial and legal assistance are also provided at the centers. The Senior Health and Consultation Center is the only one of its kind in Lower Manhattan that provides health services to homebound seniors, as well as at its central location at 27 Barrow Street.

Greenwich House also partners with Westbeth Artists Housing and West Village Houses to provide case management and mental health services.
