Jenny Day is a painter who blends actual landscapes with imagery from her memory and from social media to create fantastical scenes that focus on small- and large-scale personal or environmental disasters.

Day is based in Santa Fe, NM. She earned an MFA in painting from the University of Arizona, a BFA in painting and printmaking from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, and a BA in environmental studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Day has participated in residencies at Armory Art Center and Kimmel Harding Nelson Arts Center, among others. Recent exhibitions include solo shows at Galerie Bengelstrater (Dusseldorf, Germany; 2022), Jonathan Ferrara Gallery (New Orleans, LA; 2021), and Alabama Contemporary Art Museum (Mobile, AL; 2021).

During her spring residency Day will continue to transform the two-dimensional world of her paintings into the realm of three dimensions potentially creating a chandelier and memento mori-inspired plates of smashed and blemished foods.
