Artist Talks for a Cause

Join us for our Zoom fundraising events: Lightning Talks, a fast and fun presentation where GHP faculty and staff show off their art practice, and Gay for Clay,  a march through 50 years of queer topics in ceramic art.

LIGHTNING TALKS

Thursday, August 6 at 7:00 p.m.

These are fast-paced presentations in which each artist will have approximately 6 minutes to give the audience a brief overview of their practice, with an opportunity for Q&A after everyone has presented. This is a great way to introduce yourself to the creative practices of 10 of our staff and faculty members.

This series is also the inauguration of our collaboration with Arts Business Collaborative (ABC), a 501(c)3 direct service, technical assistance and research organization committed to improving the quality of life of POC through the arts and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math). 50% of all ticket sales for the Lightning Talks will be donated directly to ABC, so this is a great way to not only support your local ceramics center and favorite faculty members, but also a way to help strengthen and support people of color in the arts. This series will all be presented online via Zoom.

Participating Artists:
Luc Hammond-Thomas, Jessi Li, Paolo Mentasti, Kate Missett, Ryan Rennie, Andrew RobinsonJulie Terestman, Chloe Theodosiou, Gina TibbottDerek Weisberg, Adam Welch, Lu Zhang
